Ely Sobalvarro found out about our program in 2008, while being raised by his Aunt. As is the story of many of our students, Ely was living in a tenuous situation and selling food on the streets to pay for living expenses. The Foundation gave him the opportunity to go to University and complete his dream to study nursing. In his vacation time, he would travel to Costa Rica to earn money for his family before coming back for his studies. Ely graduated from UPOLI in 2012 with his nursing degree and immediately was hired at the Military hospital in Managua. In 2015 he was offered an opportunity for a position in Intensive Care Unit, which would require an additional of training. He will start this training in 2016 and is excited about improving his skills and making more money for his family. He hopes to eventually get his Doctorate degree.
Ely raises his 2 sons and continues to live in his own house in Empalme de Boaco. He expresses his sincere thanks to the Foundation and the sponsors who funded his education and completed his dreams.
